An outdoor patio called the Deck, located outside of Michael Schlow’s Italian eatery Casolare, is now serving spiked slushy drinks and light summer fare at Kimpton’s Glover Park hotel (2505 Wisconsin Avenue NW).
The Deck’s menu includes hummus, spring vegetables, peel-and-eat shrimp, saucy St. Louis ribs, sliders, Buffalo chicken pizza, and smoked brisket mac and cheese. The summertime companion to Casolare initially launched earlier this month and is now fully operational.
New executive chef Patrick Curran — a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and the recipient of an Eater “Young Gun” award in 2016 — comes to Casolare after seven years at the Momofuku Group. He most recently served as the executive sous chef at Espita Mezcaleria.
The bar is stocked with boozy snow cones and an orange dreamsicle with Tuaca, orange, and Meyer lemon jam. D.C. just got another outdoor drinking option with slushy drinks in Shaw’s Fix bar. Draft cocktails at the Deck include the Word of Mouth, made with mezcal, lime chartreuse, and vanilla. See the full menu below:
