Its closure in Alexandria may be imminent, but the owners of Eat Good Food Group are already looking forward to planting an updated version of fine dining destination Restaurant Eve elsewhere.
The flagship restaurant from chef Cathal Armstrong and his wife and business partner Meshelle Armstrong has catered to area diners for over a decade at its current location in Old Town Alexandria. The Armstrongs recently announced that Eve, which is named after their oldest daughter, is closing after dinner service on Saturday, June 2.
It now appears that rumors of a potential relocation — one possible landing spot: inside the District — have been confirmed. Meshelle Armstrong posted a photo on social media showing Cathal Armstrong standing inside a construction site. The caption: “Next chapter — EVE.”

Meshelle Armstrong did not respond to questions from Eater regarding the location of the upcoming restaurant, but did say that any reboot would likely stretch into 2019. The Armstrongs recently opened their first D.C. venture, Southeast Asian restaurant Kaliwa, at the Wharf.
The most immediate action items on the Armstrongs’ to-do list include: helping partner Todd Thrasher open Potomac Distilling Company at the Wharf, and getting a planned street food-centric grill going on Kaliwa’s patio.
