Local chain Dolci Gelati is making a comeback in Takoma Park this month, this time attached to Roscoe’s Neapolitan Pizzeria.

The Italian gelateria’s chef Gianluigi Dellaccio and partner Marcello Minna cut ties late last year, causing Dolci to move out of Minna’s restaurant Trattoria da Lina (7000 Carroll Avenue). Meanwhile, Minna opened his own ice cream shop inside.

Under a new deal, Dolci will move back into the neighborhood by teaming up with another Italian restaurant nearby, Roscoe’s (7040 Carroll Avenue). The newly-renovated space, previously used for private parties, will sport its own Dolci entrance, a gelato counter with seating, small tables and chairs, and its signature lime green walls. An opening is scheduled for some time in June.

Dolci’s new digs will serve 12 flavors of gelato, including vegan varieties and sorbet, with desserts like tiramisu and chocolate mousse. Its flagship Shaw shop sits at 1420 8th Street NW.

Roscoe’s, open during construction, has been slinging Neapolitan-style pizza in Takoma Park since 2009. Earlier this year, Dellaccio was officially recognized by the Associazione Italiana Pasticceri Cioccolatieri in Italy as the official gelato ambassador to the U.S.
