Mammoth gay bar Town is closing Saturday, June 30, ending an era filled with lively drag shows, “bear” happy hours, and late-night dance parties.
“We are closing. We could not be more heartbroken. We are sure some of you likely feel the same,” management wrote in a farewell note shared via social media. “We could not be more proud of all that we have been able to provide and certainly could not be any more humbled by the way all of you have supported us for over a decade.”
Before turning off the lights for good, the two-story nightclub/lounge is hosting “the party to end all parties” — a marathon send-off (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) featuring one last drag show (already sold out), live performances, multiple DJs, and, of course, non-stop dancing. Tickets to the drag show and dance party on Friday, June 29 are $40 in advance.
