Comfort food source Wings Over is opening its next Buffalo wings and barbecue ribs restaurant this July near the University of Maryland. A Wings Over spokesperson tells Eater the forthcoming location (4200 Hartwick Road, College Park, Md.) will feature menu updates in line with the regional chain’s latest rebranding effort; Wings Over currently sells dry-rubbed or sauce-covered wings, fried chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and other snack favorites.
Over on Barracks Row, Popville reports that neighborhood tavern Barracks Lane is moving into the space formerly occupied by pupusa spot Las Placitas. Barracks Lane is working on seating for around 100 customers, with 12 seats parked on its sidewalk patio.
Awards season
Tourist magnet Tony & Joe’s will be honored for its longevity this Sunday at the 2018 Rammy Awards. The 30-year-old waterfront restaurant is this the latest recipient of the Honorary Milestone Rammy Award from D.C. trade group the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington.
The shutter
Arlnow reports that struggling tea house House of Sleep is closing — again. The homegrown shop, which originally shut down in late 2016 before being revived by current owner Patrick Vaughan, is shutting down on Saturday, June 23.
