Roasted meat palace Earl’s is closing its Ballston sandwich shop on Friday, June 15.
The homegrown eatery expanded to the strip mall (4215 Fairfax Drive) across from the Ballston Metro after gaining a cult following just down the road at its original outpost (2605 Wilson Boulevard).
“While we have had a fabulous time running our second location, we’re ready to get back to our roots and fully concentrate on creating amazing sandwiches + experiences for our customers!” management wrote in a farewell note posted to social media. “Thank you for your support over the years and we look forward to many more!”
Some of its more captivating offerings include an evergreen Thanksgiving meal featuring sliced turkey slathered with cranberry relish, and a Primanti Bros.-esque construct piling crispy French fries atop shaved pork loin dressed with pickles and chipotle mayonnaise.
Members of dining discussion board Don Rockwell were the first to pick up on the announcement of the imminent closure.
