Sweets maker the Dough Jar — the latest pop-up venture to go the brick-and-mortar route — has set an opening date for its new store in Georgetown.
The colorful scoop shop (1332 Wisconsin Avenue NW), which bills itself as D.C.’s first raw cookie dough operation, is scheduled to open on Saturday, August 4, a company spokesperson tells Eater.
In addition to the filled-to-the-brim jars, its menu will include more than 10 flavors of cookie dough scooped into cups and cones, as well as cookie dough ice cream sundaes. Cookie dough will also make its way into ice cream and cookie sandwiches and milkshakes, as well as a “Brownie a la Dough” (brownie with ice cream and cookie dough). Fully baked cookies, brownies, coffee, and milk are also in the mix.
“We’ll have something to satisfy every sweet tooth,” says founder Lindsay Goldin.
The two-year-old brand currently serves its sugary goods at accommodating bakeries in Adams Morgan and Shaw. It also ships its products to more than 35 stores across D.C.
Georgetown is getting ready to welcome more dining options soon. A short walk away, the 24-hour Mono Diner (1424 Wisconsin Avenue NW) — from the team behind All About Burger (previously Z-Burger) — is expected to debut some time late summer, a rep tells Eater. And across the street, budding chain Compass Coffee is installing its latest location inside the historic Georgetown Theater.
