Coming attractions

Rappahannock Oyster Bar’s days as Union Market’s source for raw seafood are numbered. Area newcomer Union Oyster Bar & Lounge, a two-story restaurant (501 Morse Street NE) that appears to have a brick pizza oven on the ground floor, has alerted followers on social media — a targeted shout out that mentions “mature clientele,” cigar aficionados, and whiskey lovers — that it will be opening “very soon.”

Caffeine nation

East Moco reports that Silver Spring’s newest high-end coffee shop (911 Bonifant Street) is opening on Monday, July 9. Lewi Cafe is a local chain that focuses on Ethiopian coffee.

Burger time

Fast-casual chain Habit Burger is giving away food for several days in Prince George’s County to celebrate the opening of its latest area location (4502 Van Buren Street, Riverdale Park, Md.) on Wednesday, July 11. Members of its VIP club can claim free burger combo meals (Saturday, July 7), as well as a free lunch on Sunday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 10. The new restaurant is scheduled to operate from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The shutter

Popville reports that two-year-old Turkish cafe Simit & Smith has closed. Looks like Georgetown will be getting more pizza instead.
