A local teacher told scandal-plagued Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt he should quit “before your scandals push you out” while the Trump aide ate lunch July 2 in D.C.

Unlike other headline-making dust-ups in recent weeks, the latest confrontation between Trump critics and members of the administration discovered dining in public did not involve loud chanting, tweetstorms, or police involvement. Instead, Kristin Mink, a mother who livestreamed her participation in the pro-family reunification march that took place in D.C. over the weekend, approached Pruitt while he was dining at Teaism and aired her grievances.

EPA head Scott Pruitt was 3 tables away as I ate lunch with my child. I had to say something. This man is directly and significantly harming my child’s — and every child’s — health and future with decisions to roll back environmental regulations for the benefit of big corporations, while he uses taxpayer money to fund a lavish lifestyle. He’s corrupt, he’s a liar, he’s a climate change denier, and as a public servant, he should not be able to go out in public without hearing from the citizens he’s hurting. “We deserve to have someone at the EPA who actually does protect our environment, someone who believes in climate change and takes it seriously for the benefit of all of us including our children,” Mink tells Pruitt during the nearly minute-long dressing down. “So I would urge you to resign before your scandals push you out.

Pruitt joins a growing roster of people in President Donald Trump’s orbit that have been called out while attempting to grab a bite in public. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was heckled on June 19 while dining at Mexican restaurant Mxdc; White House adviser Stephen Miller got an earful on June 20 while eating at Shaw’s Espita Mezcaleria; and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant in Lexington, Virginia on June 22 because of the administration’s stance on immigration and LGBTQ issues.
