Emergencies
A food truck caught fire on Tuesday in the 300 block of E Street SW, reports WaPo, near federal offices. It’s not clear who owns the truck or what it sold — D.C. Fire and EMS department said one person from the truck was being treated for minor injuries.
Spotted
‘Twas a big night for well-known faces dining out in DC says Politico Playbook — Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson dined out with friends and family (and The Stanley Cup!) at The Salt Line. Kristen Wiig, in town filming Wonder Woman, had dinner at A Rake’s Progress at the Line Hotel.
#MeToo
LaCroix 82-year-old CEO Nick Caporella has been accused of sexual misconduct by two of the company’s hired company jet co-pilots, relays Eater National. The two complainants were hired by LaCroix from Broad River Aviation Inc. and allege that Caporella — who pilots his own company’s jet(!?) — touched them inappropriately on multiple occasions between 2014 and 2016. One suit was settled this January, while the other is pending.
DC restaurant openings
Ledo Pizza has opened on H Street, says POPVille. This is the local chain’s third location in D.C. proper, and it’s taking over a space previously occupied by Halal Guys (and King’s Beauty Supply.)
