Coming attractions

Katsuji Tanabe, Top Chef contestant on Season 12, is opening up a restaurant in Clarendon. The Washington Business Journal reports that Tanabe’s Le Kon will open in the former Park Lane Tavern space, serving a menu that riffs on Mexican and Japanese flavors. Coffee wire

Peet’s Coffee is now open at 115 New Jersey Avenue, SE in Navy Yard, according to PoPville. The official opening day is today.

Expansions

The Anthem wants to be a drinking destination, even on nights when the stage is dark. DCist reports that the concert hall at the Wharf will open its upstairs Marquee Bar on weekends even when the venue isn’t hosting a show.

Coming attractions

The new pizza place opening near Union Market is from an alum of Lupo Verde and Lupo Verde Osteria. The Washington City Paper reports that Chef Matteo Venini’s 2,000-square-foot restaurant Stellina Pizzeria will serve sandwiches, pizza, and fried seafood and arancini in paper cups.
