Attention, Pizza Fans: 2 Amys Is Reopening Next Week

The neighborhood favorite shut down earlier this summer after a pipe burst

Extensive water damage shut down classic Neapolitan pizza destination 2 Amys back in July, but the pizzeria is readying to get back to business as usual. The restaurant just posted on its Instagram account: “We are hoping to open sometime during the second week of September. More details to follow!”

2 Amys wasn’t the only restaurant to take a summer break (unexpected or otherwise): here’s a list of spots that have recently reopened or remain closed, either due to unexpected disasters or pre-planned construction work, menu overhauls, or retreats.

The pizzeria’s been keeping fans apprised of its renovation progress, posting construction photos along the way. “May as well fix the oven,” read the caption of a video post.

May as well fix the oven. Thanks @marraforni @francescomarraforni ##2amys #thegreatflood

At least something good came out of the burst water pipe. Stay tuned for 2 Amys’ exact opening date.

Update: There’s an opening date for the beloved pizzeria, as spotted by a PoPville reader. Be there next Monday, September 24 at 5 p.m., when 2 Amys opens its doors again.
