Plus, the Dupont Nando’s is getting a refresh

Fancy things

Ivy City newcomer Gravitas is now offering reservations for its prix fixe chef’s counter meal. There’s one seating for the chef’s counter Tuesday through Saturday, 7p.m.; the tasting menu meal will last about two-and-a-half hours. Required tickets are $240 per person and are available through Resy.

The chains

Nando’s is giving its Dupont Circle location — at 1210 18 St. NW — a refresh, so the shop will be closed from September 3 to September 12. Once the chicken chain reopens, there will be free chicken for customers, though details for that are coming later. This is also just phase one of the Dupont Nando’s renovation; Nando’s will close again in December to give the space a more intense new look.

Booze news

All through September, MurLarkey Distilled Spirits will offer up a different specialty cocktail to customers at their Bristow, VA distillery — or to make at home. Special drinks include an Irish lemonade (coming the first week of September) and a Smokehouse Bloody Mary (coming the last week of September.) MurLarkey’s spitits line-up includes some fun choices like banana- or coffee-infused whiskey.
