California-based Pokeworks isn’t the only poke restaurant with big expansion plans for D.C. Washington City Paper reports that Chinatown’s Poké Papa is adding two new locations in the near future. The first shop will open at 1919 Pennsylvania Ave. NW near Farragut West and Foggy Bottom metro stations later this year, and the other will open next year at Bethesda’s Montgomery Mall food court. Poké Papa’s owner Kerry Chao hinted to WCP that more expansion could be in the works.

Poké Papa opened in Chinatown in April 2017, serving bowls that bring in influences from Hawaii and other global cuisines like Thai and Korean. It’s one of many poke shops popping up in the Washington D.C. area.
