Plywood report
Robert Dyer snaps construction photos of the exterior of the new Anthropologie headed to the former Bethesda Row’s Barnes & Noble bookstore space this fall — a project that will include the boho brand’s rustic Terrain Cafe.
Booze news
The Washington City Paper reports on Adams Morgan’s July ANC meeting, where commissioners voted 5-1 to extend a liquor license moratorium on new tavern and nightclub licenses for five more years. Even though the neighborhood is known as a party destination (and WCP paints quite a scene of belligerent weekend binge drinkers), neighbors want a different mix of businesses. Expansions
It’s not just Mezcalero that’s expanding: PoPville reports that restaurateur Alfredo Solis’s El Sol Restaurante & Tequileria in Logan Circle is expanding into the second floor, adding 32 additional seats.
Awards season
Alexandria’s RT’s Restaurant landed on OpenTable’s new list of 50 Best Southern Restaurants in America 2018, according to Patch. The local restaurant has been serving Cajun and Creole cuisine for over 30 years.
