Baltimore noodle house Ejji Ramen is scheduled to open its second location inside Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery Mall next month.

The ramen import — pronounced “e-gee” — will sit inside the mall’s food court and offer communal-style seating (7101 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda, Md.).

Chef Ten Vong, who debuted Ejji inside Baltimore’s Belvedere Square in October 2014, draws from his Malaysian heritage to create Ejji’s lineup of Asian-inspired comfort foods. Think: a mac and cheese “ramen” hot dog that’s tempura battered, fried, and served with apricot wasabi mustard.

The menu, packed with vegan options, includes umami-filled ramen bowls, coconut rice bowls, buns, and apps like vegetable gyoza. Ingredients include hormone-free and antibiotic-free meats, seasonal vegetables, and lots of spices and seasonings.

Bethesda recently got another ramen option with the arrival of Jinya this summer inside the Pike & Rose complex.
