Winter weather has frozen out the rooftop lounge at the Graham hotel, so the Georgetown venue wants to drive day-drinkers downstairs with the addition of a weekend brunch service at its cocktail cellar, the Alex Speakeasy, starting tomorrow.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the Alex will offer $1 mimosas — made with orange, grapefruit, or cranberry juice — to mark the release of new midday menus for food and cocktails.

Executive chef Jose Molina is offering several dishes that will help customers handle multiple cocktails, including chicken and waffles, short rib hash, and a breaded, hammered pork tenderloin that comes with mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, and Hollandaise sauce. On the lighter side, there’s a $17 avocado toast (hi, Georgetown millennials), an acorn squash salad and a an a la carte menu.

Both the aforementioned mimosas and peach bellinis will also be available in four-person serving sizes ($30). The Alex will bring the heat by including serrano chile grenadine in its “About Last Night” cocktail and putting pepper sauce in a bacon bloody mary.

An “After Yoga” cocktail follows the non-dairy trend with the inclusion of oat milk and coconut milk along with cold espresso, cardamom amaro, and sherry.
