Bar Deco is gearing up for warmer weather by debuting an all-day window for Mexican food along a bustling Chinatown corridor.
Dubbed Walk Up & Taco, the to-go operation will offer 10 types of tacos and burritos when it opens on Friday, March 8 at 717 6th Street NW. The first-floor setup will take orders seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. until last call to cater to the neighborhood’s hungry bar crowd.
Along with poke, smoked pork belly, roasted veggie, and beer-battered cod tacos ($5 each), one burrito comes filled with fried chicken and blue cheese dressing made on-site ($8). Another puts a spin on a McDonald’s cheeseburger — dubbed the “BD Mac Burrito” — with fresh ground beef, American cheese, chopped onion, pickles, and a special sauce.
Orders can be placed with the host during the day, and late-night taco cravings can be placed and picked up at the window. Another new offering at the four-year-old bar is a 90s-themed brunch on Saturdays, with themed entrees and songs from the decade alongside $10 Mad Dog 20/20 cocktails.
Walk Up & Taco sides include chips and guac ($4), along with Mexican Coca-Cola and Sprite. Here’s a look at the menu:

Dupont Circle is home to another late-night taco stand with Surfside, and Roy Boys recently gave Shaw a new late-night place to chow down on fried chicken and oysters.
