Call Your Mother deli will bring its hit bagels to the West End neighborhood when it slides into part of the space occupied by sister restaurant Mercy Me. The sixth D.C.-area location of the lauded deli will open in the Yours Truly DC Hotel at 1143 New Hampshire Avenue NW in January.
“We are super pumped to expand our partnership with Mercy Me and Yours Truly by bringing CYM to West End,” said Andrew Dana, the brand’s co-owner and founder. “This has long been one of my favorite parts of town, because it is where so much intersects: colleges, offices, residential, and even tourists. It is a neighborhood with something for everybody, and we look forward to becoming a staple for breakfast, coffee, or lunch, complementing Mercy Me’s amazing bar menu and evening fare.”
Alongside regulars on the bagel and Jewish deli playlist, Call Your Mother serves inventive za’atar-dusted bagels and The Horizon everything bagel sandwich, filled with Fritos, avocado, red onions, and jalapeños.

Named one of Eater’s Best Restaurants in America in 2019, Call Your Mother gained national attention for translating old-world deli culture in creative ways that effectively ended D.C.’s “much-kvetched-about bagel drought.”
The Biden administration got hip to the bagel shop, with the motorcade stopping by the Georgetown location in January 2021 on the way back from Holy Trinity Catholic Church so President Biden could enjoy a sesame bagel with cream cheese. It was the president’s first public visit to a D.C. restaurant after his inauguration four days earlier. For the next three months, sales increased by 40%, according to Washington Business Journal.
Meanwhile, Mercy Me will continue to serve dinner and run the bar at Yours Truly. A collaboration between the owners of Call Your Mother and former Doi Moi chef Johanna Hellrigl, the self-described “sort of South American” restaurant opened in June 2020.
Call Your Mother counts Biden administration official Jeffrey Zients as an investor. With plans to keep expanding, the bagel shop is already plotting its seventh location for Old Town Alexandria with plans to open in the late spring, according to Washington Business Journal. They’ll also add some new items to the menu.
The deli will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Online orders are encouraged on weekends and at busy times.
