You've heard the lore by now. On account of the end of the Mayan calendar, some people think Dec. 21 is the end of the world, the apocalypse, however you want to classify it. If you're the superstitious type (or, more likely, just want an excuse to eat rich foods and drink some champagne), here are seven places that are using the date as an excuse to party.

If you really want to go out in style, check out "The Final Feast - An End of Days Dinner" at Poste. Chef Dennis Marron is preparing a six course dinner with wine pairings. The meal has plenty of decadent, you-only-live-once ingredients like fois gras and caviar. It'll set you back $180.

On Thursday, Dec. 20, Rustico celebrates two things at once: Festivus, and the impending end of the world. The end of days draft list includes such beers as DC Brau On the Wings of Armageddon. Stillwater Existent and Terrapin Hopsecutioner. There will be a la carte specials, too.

Oyamel is planning a bunch of specials on Dec. 21 to reflect the end of the Mayan calendar. Chef Omar Rodriguez has a bunch of new tacos, with ingredients like fois gras and lobster, and entrees such as duck fat poached halibut. Expect custom cocktails, too.

Dishes on the menu include lobster thermidor gratin and pave of Kobe beef. You also can get the menu's caviar tacos a la carte in the Quill lounge all month.
