It's December, so stock up on Christmas cookies and Hanukkah rugelach.
1. Baked & Wired
The Georgetown bakery has a whole menu of holiday treats like spritz cookies, lebkuchen, linzer cookies, gingerbread men, and caramel popcorn. Just place orders by phone at least 48 hours in advance.
2. Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery
Chef David Guas is once again making candied Creole pecans, pralines, peppermint bark, caramel popcorn with peanuts and bacon, and other sweets. These "Candy Corner Treats" will be available for retail in mid-December, but both locations (D.C. and Arlington) are accepting special orders for them now.
3. Bread Furst

Starting December 6, Bread Furst is offering a thorough menu of Hanukkah goodies like ruggalach, chocolate babka, sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts), latkes, and olive oil crackers. They're taking pre-orders now.
4. Buzz Bakeshop
New culinary director Maggie Austin is planning to make rum bundt cakes in both mini and full-size, as well as petit candied coconut macaroons and brownie bites in gift boxes. The treats will be available later this month.
5. Georgetown Cupcake
Devotees will line-up for this cupcakery's Christmas-themed cupcakes, available this month. Think flavors like chocolate egg nog, white chocolate peppermint, and gingerbread.
6. Momofuku Milk Bar
Starting tomorrow, Milk Bar will unveil a line of cranberry-gingerbread flavored treats. There will be cake truffles and a shake. Whole cakes, with layers of gingerbread cake, cranberry sauce, and cream cheese frosting will also be available.
This CityCenterDC bakery will soon start taking special orders for cakes in flavors like eggnog and vanilla bean, ginger and lemon, and chocolate peppermint. They're also creating edible gifts like assorted cookie tins and hot cocoa and marshmallow kits.
8. Sticky Fingers Bakery
Buy a tin full of classic Italian cookies like pignoli, and sesame, rainbow and spritz cookies from this vegan bakery. Place orders online for pick-up with at least 24 hours notice.
9. Three Fifty Bakery and Coffee Bar
