Though there's no shortage of eggnog sold at supermarkets this time of year, drinking the caloric beverage straight from the carton with your cat while watching Netflix just doesn't feel very festive. Eggnog is a drink meant to be enjoyed socially, perhaps to distract from the artery-clogging nature of its creamy deliciousness.

Conveniently, bars and restaurants across the region are offering a variety of eggnog drinks that can be sipped in the company of friends and family while basking in holiday decor or warming up by a crackling fire. Derek Brown's Miracle on 7th Street strip in Shaw is one efficient way to get a fix, where thousands of eggnog shots are downed during the holidays for $5 each (with a gift of the glass for an extra $5).

These egg nog picks run the gamut, from virgin to spiked, tweaked to traditional, and even hot to cold. Here are 15 spots to hit to satisfy a nog craving.
