17 Places to Find Festive Holiday Cookies Around D.C.

Where to get sugar cutouts, gingerbreads, and much more.

View as Map

Although many homebound bakers are stepping up their baking projects this year, making all those pinned recipes sometimes for holiday cookies can still feel daunting. For people who want to outsource their festive treats, the D.C. area boasts plenty of excellent options for cookies, from anise-flavored German specialities and iced cut-outs to hefty, classic options for chocolate chip. Here’s a list of 17 places that can help make the holidays a whole lot sweeter.

Readers looking for help celebrating Hanukkah should check out this map. Anyone looking ahead to Christmas Dinner can find feasting options here.

A number of D.C. area restaurants have resumed dine-in service. The level of service offered is indicated on each map point. However, this should not be taken as endorsement for dining in, as there are still safety concerns. The Washington Post is tracking coronavirus cases and deaths in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. More information can be found at coronavirus.dc.gov. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
