D.C. is undergoing a coffee renaissance. There are quality espresso and coffee shops cropping up across town, ready to deliver daily caffeine jolts to their customers. In addition to slinging cappuccinos and lattes, some coffee spots are starting to serve another kind of kick — a boozy buzz.
Starbucks recently announced it's bringing its beer and wine concept to several area stores, but hitting up a chain isn't the only option for enjoying a drink in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.
A handful of local coffee shops are already in on the game (even the 9:30 Club has a coffee bar with liquor add-ons) offering everything like craft brews and even absinthe.
