Essential coffee shops around D.C. are adjusting hours and takeaway options

The novel coronavirus outbreak has pushed people into their homes, shutting down nonessential businesses and limiting restaurants, bars, and cafes to takeout and delivery. Many of the city’s essential D.C. coffee shops are adjusting to dine-in bans by delivering espresso drinks and ground beans. Some trusted brands are shifting gears to help those in need, too. Compass Coffee is making cherry blossom-scented hand cleaner, and Eaton DC’s stylish Kintsugi cafe has flipped into a daytime donation center for hygiene products and household supplies for the elderly.
