Ok, "last minute" might be a little strong, given the fact Bastille Day isn't until Sunday. But believe it or not, some restaurants have already kicked off their celebrations in earnest. Here are a few restaurants to visit for those who wish to get their French fix this week.

Trummer's on Main

This weekend, Trummer's will mark both Bastille Day and the restaurant's four year anniversary with a special menu. $42 buys three courses while $65 gets a full tasting. Dishes include hanger steak au poive, bleu cheese souffle and escargots.

2941 Restaurant

2941 is planning a blow-out Taste of France festival. The event lasts all day including a Food & Wine festival from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ($48) or a four course menu for $95 with pairings.

Central Michel Richard

Central's party starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday. There will be free gougeres, Bastille Day specials, 20 percent off French wine, specialty cocktails and a jazz quartet.

L'Enfant Café

It's only $6 to get into L'Enfant's party on Saturday, which features a French maid race, DJs can can dancers and even aerialists.

Cafe du Parc

Cafe du Parc is planning an outdoor party on Sunday beginning at noon. There is music from the Gypsy Roots Quartet, a la carte French specialties and more.

Bastille

With a name like Bastille, clearly the Alexandria restaurant will have a celebration. The restaurant will offer a $39 prix fixe menu all day on Sunday. They're also scheduled to head to the James Beard House July 15 with a special Bastille Day dinner (more info here).

Mintwood Place

The celebrations have already begun at Mintwood Place. All week, chef Cedric Maupillier has created an ala carte menu, a five course tasting menu ($65) and wine pairings in celebration of Toulon, the region where he is from.

Bistrot Du Coin
