Oktoberfest parties and fall weather go together like bratwurst and pints of amber-hued German beer. A traditional Bavarian celebration, Oktoberfest is all about celebrating the season with eating, drinking, lederhosen, and music.

Most of the festivities in the U.S. kick off in late September and run through early October, with weekends at the center of the action. This year, restaurants and beer gardens from Bethesda to Arlington are hosting outdoor grilling sessions, themed brunches, and beer specials to help raise spirits. Some last a day, while others run a couple of weekends or more.

This map shows where to raise a fresh pint of Oktoberfest beer.
