Tired of Tapas? Where to Avoid Small Plates on 14th St.

View as Map

It seems like a new small plates restaurant opens just about every week along the 14th Street corridor. There's Kapnos, Barcelona Wine Bar, Etto, and Doi Moi, just to name a few. And that's not even including all the established small plates restaurants around there, like Cork Wine Bar, Estadio, Masa 14 and Bar Pilar. It seems like, backlash aside, small plates are here to stay. What's a hungry diner in a trendy neighborhood to do? Eater has rounded up those restaurants on 14th Street that appeal to those who are tired of tapas, busy entertaining Midwestern relatives with small plates skepticism, or simply not in the mood to share dinner with a crowd. Seek out these places, and be sure to try the hearty dishes highlighted.

Have another favorite non-tapas restaurant around 14th Street (or a favorite dish to order there)? Let us know about it in the comments.
