Celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn’s new vegan burger stand, based out of Silver Spring Whole Foods, is offering pickup and delivery (GrubHub, Uber Eats) for indulgent Beyond Meat and potato-based cheese concoctions, chili dogs, and fried oyster mushroom sandwiches that mimic crispy chicken. A new outpost in the South Capitol Hill Whole Foods has delivery in D.C.
There’s a lengthy vegetarian section on the takeout menu at Adams Morgan’s Lapis, which specializes in homey staples from Afghanistan. Order dishes like baked eggplant with tomato sauce for curbside pickup.
Not all outposts of José Andrés’ vegetable-centric fast-casual chain Beefsteak are currently open, but the Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom locations are serving up marinated beet burgers, warm grain bowls, salads, and more for pickup and delivery via GrubHub, Postmates, Caviar, DoorDash, and UberEats.
Michelin-starred Komi’s vegetarian pop-up Happy Gyro is back, this time as a carryout and delivery operation. Meat-free dishes include celery root reuben sandwiches, “meatball” subs with provolone and marinara, black walnut tacos, pizzas, and vegetarian gyros. Wine and beer is also available for purchase with meals.
Vegan fast-casual chain HipCityVeg is offering pickup and delivery out of its Chinatown and Dupont Circle locations for those craving sweet potato fries with“Chik N’” nuggets or meat-free taco salads.
Get a shipment of carrot dill, potato leek, or gingery quinoa vegetable soup from Soupergirl, which is offering local deliveries of soup and salad — and $35 produce boxes too.
Hummus, cashew labneh, almond feta, and pickled vegetables are a few of the vegan-friendly pantry staples available at Shouk’s Mount Vernon Triangle location, which is serving its Israeli street food for curbside pickup and delivery. The local fast-casual chain is also doing something called “Hood Drops” on its app, heading to different neighborhoods each day to distribute pitas, bowls, and salads at convenient locations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia sans delivery fees.

Chaia Tacos Chinatown
In addition to Chai’s normal menu of vegetarian tacos available for Caivar delivery or pickup at its locations in Georgetown or Mt. Vernon, the restaurant is rolling out a twice-weekly “Enchilada Supper Club.” For Tuesdays or Thursday dinners, pick up mushroom or black bean enchiladas and add on extras like margarita mason jar kits or savory breakfast oats.
Equinox is keeping its Sunday vegan brunch tradition going with a to-go brunch box: choose dishes like granola-crusted French toast or freshly baked focaccia a la carte or as four courses for $30. The delivery dinner menu features plenty of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options too.
H Street diner Fare Well specializes in vegan comfort foods, and in addition to its diner staples and bakery items, reheatable meals like lasagna or Impossible meatloaf are available for pickup and delivery.
The CityCenter location of Fruitive is open for pickup and delivery orders of smoothies, collard tacos, toasts, and wraps, with meal kits available for individuals and families too.
