It wasn't long ago that a bacon Bloody Mary was considered a novel thing, with its bacon fat-washed vodka and bacon strip garnish. And they certainly seem to be plentiful at spots like The Green Pig, Jackson's Mighty Fine Food, and District Commons. But nowadays it takes a little bit more drama for a Bloody Mary to get some attention.

Some bartenders go the route of spicy seafood, while others pair theirs with breakfast items. Here are some places in D.C. who delight or surprise drinkers with unusual garnishes.
