Where to Watch the Belmont Stakes — and a Triple Crown Contender

Here are several D.C. bars that will be showing the race on Saturday at 6:50 p.m.

Horse fans stick to their race day traditions, and most of the time that includes some type of fancy drink. The Belmont Stakes (the last leg of the Triple Crown series) makes no exception with two race day cocktail varieties: the official Belmont Jewel and the unofficial Belmont Breeze.

But all the booze in the world can't erase the last few decades of racing at Belmont Park. Since 1979, a dozen different horses have competed and failed to win the ultimate prize: the Triple Crown.

On Saturday, American Pharaoh will give it a go. For those hoping for history (or just looking for an excuse to drink on a Saturday), here now are several D.C. bars where horse racing fanatics will be watching the big event.
