Most urbanites will make the trek out of the city for a chance to sip Viognier and Cabernet Franc while taking in miles of rolling hills offered at the wineries of Virginia and Maryland.

But the journey to vino land is even sweeter for wine lovers when they’re greeted by musicians who strum their acoustic guitar and belt out folk, blues, and other favorable melodies. Most offer cheese, charcuterie, and other snacks for sale. They also invite guests to pack a picnic.

This map sticks to spots that are within a two-hour drive of D.C. Wine and music lovers aren't limited to performances during the summer. Some wineries, including Black Ankle Vineyards in Mt. Airy and Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, extend the events through the fall. Perigeaux Vineyards & Winery in St. Leonard or Breaux Vineyards in Purcellville offer live music throughout the year.

Here's a list of 11 area wineries that offer live music on Friday nights or weekend afternoons.
