<p>Embrace the blue crab</p> <p>Summer is crab season in Washington, and this presents plenty of options. There are <a href="http://dc.eater.com/maps/where-to-eat-crabs-closer-to-home">crab houses</a>. There are <a href="http://dc.eater.com/maps/best-crabcakes-in-dc-map">crab cakes</a>. There are <a href="http://dc.eater.com/maps/soft-shell-crab-guide-dc">soft-shells</a>. There are all-you-can-eat <a href="http://dc.eater.com/2016/4/12/11357940/all-you-can-eat-crab-legs-dc">crab leg</a> nights. And there are crab feasts.</p>
<p>For this final category, Eater's talking restaurants that hold crab parties, basically, with bushels of crab, often accompanied by beers, sides, or even live music. Here are some to put on the calendar.</p>

<p><i style="line-height: 24px;"></i><b>Pop's SeaBar:</b> Pop's is again scheduling private crab feasts on its patio this summer. Groups of 6-8 people can come together for crabs and buckets of beer. <p><b style="line-height: 1.5;">The Fainting Goat: </b>This U Street restaurant has a variety of summer specials scheduled this year. Crab will dominate their plans in August. On August 22 and 29, they'll serve up crabs with cole slaw, corn on the cob, fries, and peach melba. Pricing for the events is $45.</p>
<p><b>National Harbor: </b>The Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival is slated for August 27 at National Harbor. The event has two sessions and adult tickets start at $59. More <a href="http://www.mdcrabfest.com/national-harbor/show-info" style="line-height: 1.24;">info here.</a></p>
<p><b>Bearnaise:</b> Bearnaise has all-you-can-eat Maryland crabs for $45 (served with potatoes and corn) through the end of August.</p>
<p><b>Redwood: </b>September 10 is when to head for Redwood for crabs. The <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/redwoods-second-annual-crab-feast-tickets-27132506056?utm-medium=discovery&utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&aff=esfb&utm-source=fb&utm-term=listing">event</a> is $45 general admission for a half dozen crabs, three drink tickets, sides and a mallot.</p>
<p><b>Mad Fox Brewing Company: </b>On August 25, Mad Fox's party will feature crabs, corn and hush puppies, with extended happy hour pricing. Event is $55; tickets <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/1050313811672111/">here</a>.</p>
<p><b>Nats Park: </b>There's a crab feast on the field at Nats Park on Monday, Aug. 22. Tickets are here. It's $60 for a half dozen and $99 for <a style="line-height: 1.24;" href="http://m.mlb.com/nationals/tickets/info/crabfeast">all-you-can-eat.</a></p>

<p>Feel the opposite of crabby</p> <p>Snow crab legs are surprisingly popular as an all-you-can-eat item. The salty, delicate meat trapped in thin shells makes for a fast and easy eating experience compared <a href="http://www.eater.com/2015/6/5/8640317/maryland-blue-crabs-where-to-eat">to blue crab</a>, the crustacean that tends to inspire the D.C. area's loyalty.</p>
<p>While it's easy to find snow crab legs in many of the local Asian buffets, a little hustle is necessary to fill up on them. In some cases, the scramble can even lead to a <a href="http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/Two-Arrested-After-Dispute-Over-Crab-Legs-Turns-Violent-374392541.html" target="_blank">physical altercation</a>.
